This is our classic dishwashing soap, but designed to be purely functional rather than functional and decorative like the Cup o' dishwashing soap. With added citric acid to fight soap scum and leave your dishes sparkling, and glycerin to help keep your hands from drying.
You want to go plastic free but are still using liquid detergent in plastic bottles? Our dishwashing soap is the answer.
Simply rub your regular dish brush or sponge on the surface of the soap and use as normal to clean dishes. Keep soap in a drainable dish to ensure its longevity.
As with all BAR OF HOPE soaps, follow our soap care advice to get the best out of your bar.

It's no secret that BAR OF HOPE is all about sustainable practices and reducing waste. This is why we offer 'naked' bars which come with a product information leaflet and not much else. But if you'd like something a bit more fancy as a gift for someone (or yourself!), we offer a sustainable wrapped option using recycled paper and cotton twine.
BAR OF HOPE products are crafted, cut and prepared for you by hands, not machines, so there will be some variation and uniqueness to each bar.
Ingredients: Sodium Cocoate (Coconut); Aqua; Essential oils of: Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower, Litsea Cubeba Fuit; Citric Acid; Glycerin.

Love the dish soap and brush. What a fantastic idea. No more plastic, thank goodness.
I love that these are plastic free and I can save on throwing out empty bottles in the end. These blocks smell lemony and delicious and clean my dishes so well! 😍
I began using this at the start of Auckland's Level 4 lockdown (August 2021) because I figured I was going to be doing a lot more dishes, and wanted to avoid supermarkets as much as possible while also supporting local businesses. I absolutely LOVE this soap and have ordered some small bowls to have filled and keep on my bench (rather than the block that I find hard to keep dry). Despite the fact that I struggle to keep this block dry though, it is lasting amazingly well, I have used less than one quarter (I am guessing), and that is despite dishwashing multiple times a day! I will admit that I was a little skeptical at first, despite being a fan of hard soaps in the bathroom I just didn't see a block of soap working as well in the kitchen. However I am now a complete convert and am already planning to give these as Christmas presents this year.
